Ramesh Sippy has been appointed as the Chairman of the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) replacing veteran actor Om Puri. Jawahar Wattal and A K Bir also appointed as independent directors by The Information and Broadcasting Ministry. It is being said that the I&B ministry is looking at ensuring a more focused approach towards mainstream films as well as advertisements and parallel cinema with the appointment of these three personalities.
